I think that there had been phases when cultural intersection and cultural assimilation had not been respected by many racial and ethnic groups. However, there had not been any option but to assimilate and juxtapose different elements of different cultures like the culture of the black Indians and the culture of the whites. There had been hybrids of multiple cultures because of the existence of diversifications in the perspectives, personalities and ways of doing specific things by specific individuals.
